Hello
and welcome to my little garden of life. My goal here is to
share with others my life experiences and thoughts through
my art and my
writings. Please note that I am who I am and will not hide
behind false pretenses to express myself. Not everyone will
agree with me or my views, but HEY, our differences are what
makes us unique and what makes life interesting.
HOBBIES
AND INTERESTS
I am usually
found hanging out in
Second Life.
It is probably my favorite place to go when I want to get away but
can't really get away...lol. I also play around a little in
Myspace, although
not as much as I used to. I sometimes enjoy Web Design in my spare time and have
a very strong passion for Graphic Design! Several years ago, my
father gave me my first computer (I prefer to think of it as a
dinosaur now.... even then for that matter...lol) and I have been
addicted to them ever since.
I am very much into art
and poetry. I have been intrigued with art all my life and until a
few years ago, the only artistic outlet I knew how to utilize was
through my writings. Thanks to one of the most inspirational
people in my life, Mollie, a former college instructor, a whole
new world has been opened to me. She helped me find a world within
that even I had never truly seen and pushed me to explore my
creative abilities and because of her, I have more than just my
poetry to offer the world to see.
In my spare time, I enjoy
watching TV or movies, going to the gym, traveling, nature,
swimming, camping, crocheting, gardening, internet, etc. My
favorite kind of movie is and always has been fantasy and sci-fi!
I'm currently enthralled with the Smallville episodes and am
quickly beginning to love Heros and Eureka!
If you're really
interested in getting to know me, I keep a blog on Myspace. You
can access it at
www.myspace.com/mindgardens or by following the link in the
top of this page. To avoid unwanted lurking, I tend to keep it
private now so you'll have to join Myspace and request to be added
to my friend list. Please, don't just send a friend request, but
actually send me a message as well letting me know your
intentions. You can't just invite anyone into your home, afterall,
and the same applies to my blog. Thanks for your understanding! :)
EDUCATION
& WORK
As I mentioned previously,
I obtained my Bachelors in Visual arts. I also have two Associates Degrees (Public/Human
Services & Occupational Technology w/emphasis in Graphic Arts,)
and a certificate in Illustration. I am currently employed at a
major newspaper company, as previously mentioned, and very much
enjoy the Graphic Design work I do there. We have a variety of
newsprint and glossy magazine ads we create and it always keeps my
creative energies flowing and inspired. |
